Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. The dough will be wet and sticky.
Melt the butter and pour it into the greased baking pan.
Scoop the dough into the butter-filled pan, spreading it evenly. Use a knife to score the dough into 9 squares.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For a sweet version, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking. For a savory twist, add shredded cheese and garlic powder to the dough.
