Ingredients
  

Cheesy Hash Browns

  • 4 large Russet potatoes peeled and grated
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese cheddar preferred
  • 3 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1/2 cup onion finely diced (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Peel and grate the potatoes.
  • Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch.
  • Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
  • In a bowl, combine the grated potatoes with cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until well mixed.
  • Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the potato mixture, pressing it down lightly with a spatula to form an even layer.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Once cooked, transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding chopped jalapeƱos, bacon bits, or fresh herbs. If using frozen hash browns, ensure they are thawed and drained before cooking.
