Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar (brown or white)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Optionally, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For extra moisture, consider adding a mashed banana or 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt to the wet ingredients. If you prefer a richer chocolate flavor, swap 1/4 cup of flour with cocoa powder.
