Ingredients
  

French Toast Base

  • 1 pack Hawaiian Rolls 12 rolls per pack
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk or Half & Half
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg optional
  • 2-3 tbsp butter for frying

Toppings

  • maple syrup or honey for drizzling
  • powdered sugar optional topping

Instructions
 

  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Dip each roll half into the custard mixture, allowing it to soak for 10-15 seconds.
  • Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Place soaked rolls in the skillet, cut side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or other favorite toppings.

Notes

For an extra indulgent version, try stuffing the rolls with a cream cheese mixture before soaking them in the custard.
