Steak

  • 1.5 pounds round or cube steak

Gravy

  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream optional
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Season the steak with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • In the same skillet, add sliced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until golden and caramelized.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and stir to create a roux.
  • Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Simmer until thickened.
  • Stir in heavy cream (if using) and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Return steaks to the skillet, spooning gravy over them.
  • Cover and let simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until the steak is tender.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

For a healthier option, use a lean cut of steak and substitute heavy cream with milk. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
