Ingredients
  

Taco Bake Base

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 6-8 tortillas soft or crunchy chips
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14 oz can
  • 1 can black beans drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup sour cream optional
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1-2 bell peppers chopped
  • 1 cup corn optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add taco seasoning, diced tomatoes, and black beans. Stir well and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  • Spread a thin layer of salsa at the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Layer tortillas, followed by the meat mixture, cheese, and repeat layers.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  • Let the taco bake rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add toppings like chopped cilantro, diced avocado, and extra sour cream for a fresh finish!
